TIPS TO HELP YOUR CHILD SUCCEED

  • Email can be a faster, more effective way to get response from your child's teachers than phones.
  • Encourage your kids to get involved in school, and be there to take them to and from after school and weekend activities.
  • Get in touch with your school's home-school facilitator. There's one in every middle school and high school.
  • Come up with a standard for grades that is reasonable and measure their progress based on that. This makes it easier to identify if there is a problem.
  • Email the teacher to get extra copies of transcripts and progress reports if your child isn't bringing them home.
  • Look at your child's transcript at beginning of each year and know where they stand on credits. They can fail 4 classes and still graduate on time. 28 credits are needed to graduate (=1 credit per class).
