Aimee Beck, a teacher at Bleckley County Middle School, loves adding some fun to her math lessons, from computer games to algebra raps.

The class took a break for a few measures of their song for a solo performance by student Abbie Carr.

Carr wrote 13WMAZ a letter explaining why Ms. Beck should be chosen for My Teacher Is Tops. She wrote, "She holds up to high standards and encourages us to do our best. She helps us be the best we can be in every thing we do."

Her students say Ms. Beck deserves two thumbs up for making every day different.

Beck says, "Anything we can do to make sure they master the standards, and sometimes that takes more than pencil and paper."

The class usually moves around from seat to seat to work with new groups and learn from each other.

Chania McRae says, "If you don't understand anything, you can ask one of your group members for help."

The group work teaches the class to help each other, but they say Ms. Beck is always around to help out.

Beck says, "I like to see when they get it, when there's problems they can't solve and a light bulb turns on. That's my favorite thing to see."

Her students say they always look forward to coming to Ms. Beck's class.
