STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -- Georgia Southern University has topped 20,000 students for the first time ever.
The south Georgia college's enrollment this fall is 20,212 with nearly 3,100 new freshmen. The college received a record number of applications this semester.
The enrollment jump is a 1.6 percent increase over last year.
The students are from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.
Georgia Southern is in Statesboro.
