Back-to-school season is always a busy time for families, but Bibb County's new pre-registration program at their Welcome Center on Riverside Drive will allow parents to register their children for school all in one place.

Previously, if parents had children of different ages that needed to be registered for school, they would have go to each individual school to process paperwork.

Now, Bibb County officials have streamlined the process to make it easier.

"One of the things that's exciting about the centralized registration process is the fact that it was an answer to a call from the parents of our community about streamlining the registration process," explains Kimberlyn Carter, who is the Director of Strategic Partnership for the Bibb County School District.

Alecia Scott is the parent of a 2nd grader and 4th grader who are transferring elementary school districts. She says the entire process only took her 15 to 20 minutes.

"The staff here make it so easy for you," she explains. "They're very nice. They make sure you have everything switched over so it's a smooth transition."

In order to be prepared for your visit to register your child for Bibb County Schools, be sure and bring the child's birth certificate, proof of address, and a photo ID. The center is located at 2003 Riverside Drive in Macon.
