Around 7:30 AM Wednesday, a school bus was headed to the East Laurens High School campus, when it was involved in a three-car collision.
East Laurens chief of police Bill Leucke says that while the bus was stopping to pick up students on Central Drive in East Dublin, the third car hit the middle car, causing it to hit the back of the bus.
Police say 23-year old Antonio Surry admitted that the middle car was stopped and that he was not paying attention. Surry is being cited for following too closely.
Deborah Jackson, a mother of three students on the bus, says her children to the go the hospital. "My daughter got thrown on the floor, and hit her head. And she got a big knot in the back of head."
Parents say the area where their students are picked up on Central Drive is very busy, and that drivers should pay better attention.
"Slow down! When you see the bus, slow down, stop, because kids are crossing the street," says Jackson.
