A Bonaire teacher said that by bringing fun into the classroom she is able to hold the attention of her students and get them excited about Math, Reading and History.
Laura Sanders is this week's "My Teacher is Tops" winner. She is a fourth grade elementary school teacher at Hilltop Elementary .
One of her students Zoee Walker nominated her for the honor. She said that she adores Sanders and wanted everyone to know.
"Because I have never felt this obsessed with this teacher," said Walker. "I am really crazy about her she likes to have fun with us and stuff."
Students said that she makes the class interactive and that they tackle the problems as a team.
"I think other students should really like to have her because when we are all in her class we can really bond together because she helps us do that," said Abby Cross, a student.
But each lesson always starts with a pinch of fun and enthusiasm from Sanders.
"I think that if it's not fun, then they don't make any connection to it," said Sanders. "Connections just like relationships are so important. If they can't find a way to connect to it and make it their own then don't have an interest in it that they can build on to use it to learn."
