Dublin voters elected Phil Best as their mayor.

When election results came in Tuesday night, it was celebration for the Best party.

"We were just waiting on pins and needles," says Cile Best.

Mayor Phil Best calls his wife, Cile, his number one fan.

"Personally, I'm a little prejudice here, but I think he is just looking out for the betterment of Dublin," she says.

And according to the turnout, so did more than 1,600 other Dublin voters.

Best and his opponent, small business owner, Jimmy Vaughn waited to hear the results at the Laurens County Courthouse.

Best won by more than 1,000 votes, a victory Vaughn wasn't predicting.

"We don't even consider that, if we don't win. If has never been in this equation," Vaughn said a short time before the results came in.

For Best, it'll be his fourth term as Dublin's mayor.

"The first thing we're going to do is we're going to pick up signs," he says.

After that, Best says he'll focus on bringing jobs to the city.

"We've already been working with our development authority and county commissioners. We're going to continue to do that and support them in every way."

Best says he also plans to work on revitalizing downtown.
