BUFORD, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say 14 people who were displaced when health officials closed a metro Atlanta apartment building due to bats have been cleared to return home.
The Gwinnett Daily Post reports that health officials had closed the apartment building in Buford after bats were discovered in the attic of the complex and in several units.
Gwinnett County Public Health Department spokeswoman Karen Shields said the American Red Cross and county and state officials assisted the families after the apartment building was shut down.
Authorities say the families were allowed to return to the building on Monday afternoon.
