CANTON, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say the rescue of a group of rafters on the Etowah River marks the second time in two weeks that crews have come to the aid of rafters on the waterway north of Atlanta.

WSB-TV reports that two men and two women became disoriented in the dark Sunday night, while rafting on the river in Cherokee County north of Atlanta. The group was able to use a cell phone to call authorities, and a search-and-rescue crew was dispatched.

Special operations Chief Darrell Mitchell said the river is very winding, and the group misjudged where they were at. He said crews were able to find the group after the distress call, and that all four rafters were able to safely get out of the water.
