ATLANTA (AP) - A Georgia nonprofit is accepting nominations for the state's most outstanding historic preservationists and projects.

The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation says it's accepting submissions through Oct. 22 for its 2013 Preservation Awards.

The annual awards single out people and projects that have saved important pieces of Georgia's past. Categories include excellence in rehabilitation of deteriorating buildings, long-term stewardship of historic properties, and preservation service by people or groups that promote awareness of saving Georgia's historic treasures.

The group says information on how to make a nomination can be found on its website, http://www.GeorgiaTrust.org .

The 2013 award winners will be announced next April.
