Ga. Woman Faces Long Recovery after Parade Crash

HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) - A Holly Springs police officer who is an Army veteran says his wife faces a long recovery after both were injured when a train collided with a float carrying wounded veterans during a Texas parade.
 
Officer Shane Ladner says doctors amputated his Meg Ladner's left leg and pins were placed in her right leg. CBS Atlanta reports (http://bit.ly/WOEoXG) that she also suffered a crushed pelvis during the accident.
 
Ladner updated his wife's condition during a news conference over the weekend.
 
The Nov. 15 accident left four dead and several more injured.
 
Ladner suffered a back injury in the wreck. His wife is hospitalized at Atlanta Medical Center.
