MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A new control tower is being planned at an airport outside Atlanta.

The Marietta Daily Journal reports that the Cobb Board of Commissioner took steps this week toward building a new, $2.56 million control tower at Cobb County McCollum Field, northwest of Atlanta.

Airport manager Karl Von Hagel said the new tower should be in place by fall of 2014.
