ATLANTA (AP) - Fulton County commissioners on Wednesday are set to consider a proposed 2013 budget that might lead to furloughs for public defenders and prosecutors.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the proposed budget could also trim spending on libraries and other programs in the county that's home to the city of Atlanta.
Local governments across metro Atlanta have struggled to balance budgets after the recession took a toll on property taxes and other revenues. That's led to tax increases and spending cuts in Cobb, DeKalb and Gwinnett counties.
