Group asking Gov. Deal to accept federal Medicaid money

ATLANTA (AP) - The Georgia Federation of Democratic Women is asking Gov. Nathan Deal to accept federal funding to expand the state's Medicaid program.

The group's leaders say they'll hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the South Wing of the Capitol Building. They plan to call for Deal to accept $40.5 billion in federal funding to expand Medicaid in the state.

One of the group's leaders says the organization wants Deal to help Georgians reap the benefits of tax dollars they've already paid to the federal government.
