Johns Creek plans holiday lighting ceremony

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (AP) - Johns Creek city officials are planning to mark the start of the holiday season with the official lighting of a Christmas tree and dreidel outside City Hall.

The lighting ceremony is planned for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in the city council chambers with the Barnwell Elementary School Choir. The celebration is expected to then move outside for the lighting of Christmas tree and dreidel.

Participants will also be able to sign Christmas cards for members of the military. The cards are a montage of holiday pictures drawn by Johns Creek fifth grade students.
