13WMAZ's Suzanne Lawler met with Sandi Smith of Gray on her final stop, who shared her recipe for turkey soup made from Thanksgiving leftovers.
It's that time of year when people have more leftovers then they can handle, but Sandi Smith shared one way to tackle that problem.
She shared a recipe for a turkey soup made from Thanksgiving leftovers that includes wild rice and other ingredients.
Here it is:
One box of original Uncle Ben's wild rice (cook in microwave as directed on box)
1 cup of cooked bacon pieces
2 cups of leftover chopped turkey
2 cups of frozen chopped season blend onion and pepper mix
2 cans of chicken broth
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
1 cup of heavy cream
2 tbsp of real butter or bacon drippings
In a medium pot, saute anion and peppers in drippings or 2 tbsp of butter for about to minutes. Add meat, broth and soup. When combined well, add rice from microwave. Continue to cook for approximately 10 minutes on low to medium heat. Add cream and enjoy!
