With Georgia under a state of emergency due to the icy weather forecasted this week, the Macon-based 48th Brigade is making preparations to help out.
They spent the morning gassing up their large trucks and making sure they have enough supplies in case they need to deploy throughout the area.
A few weeks ago during the winter storm, 80 members of the 48th brigade were sent to the Atlanta area to assist stranded motorists and handle trapped vehicles on the interstates.
This time, they're most likely to be sent between South Atlanta and Central Georgia.
Once they get a call to spring into action, commanders say they can be on the road and ready within 2 hours.
A platoon based in Calhoun has already been called out to assist the EMA in Cherokee County.
