5 arrested after Jones Co. students fall ill from hallucinogen

Jones County Sheriff Butch Reese talks about a drug taken by some students that made them ill. Five people were arrested.

Five people were arrested Wednesday and charged in connection to a mysterious substance that made two Jones County students fall ill.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office identified those five individuals as:

Aaron Devin Kimbrough, 21

  • Possession of Schedule I substance with intent to distribute
  • Distribution of Schedule I substance (2 counts)

Laura Nicole Sellers, 21

  • Possession of Schedule I substance with intent to distribute
  • Distribution of Schedule I substance (2 counts)

Dylan Michael Thomas, 17

  • Possession of Schedule I substance with intent to distribute
  • Distribution of Schedule I substance
  • Distribution of Schedule I substance near a school zone

Aaron Michael Gaultney, 23

  • Possession of Schedule I (MDMA) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule III (suboxone) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute

Juvenile, 15

  • Possession of Schedule I
  • Possession of Schedule I substance near a school zone

Investigators found over 2,600 'hits' of the hallucinogen overnight.

The GBI is currently working to identify the substance. It has NOT been confirmed the substance was LSD.
