A Christmas Tale: Kids shop at Santa's Secret Shop in Macon

The countdown to Christmas is on!

Adults aren't the only ones looking for the perfect gifts; kids are on the hunt as well.

But the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences is helping kids check off their Christmas list and stay on budget.

Hundreds of presents wrapped neatly away, for family and friends to enjoy and to play.

“It's a lot of presents at once and kids get excited about that,” said employee Kim Murphy.

Brothers Trey and Drew Shurley asked helpers to assist. Both Nana and Dad were at the top of their list.

“It's really cute to see them get excited about giving,” said Murphy.

Each gift is pre-wrapped and perfectly stuffed. But staying on budget can be pretty tough.

“Everything in here is between $1 and $10, so it's very reasonable,” said Murphy.

But no matter what gift the Shurley boys choose, it's the gift from the heart that matters most.

“Oh! It's the joy. Just seeing all the children and the smiles on their faces, it just makes all the difference,” said volunteer Bassha Yancey.

With a wallet for Dad and gifts for Nana too, their holiday shopping is finally through.

“I just love working here and I have a lot of fun seeing the kids that come through here,” said Murphy.

Santa's Secret Shop is open during normal business hours at the Museum of Arts and Sciences.

Kids can stop by to purchase gifts through December 23.
