Several Macon businesses were raided Tuesday after an investigation into commercial gambling.
A release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says the GBI’s Commercial Gambling Unit and Bibb County Sheriff’s Office executed four warrants on three businesses and a home that were allegedly violating state gambling laws.
The three businesses are:
- Shell Food Mart, 2700 Riverside Dr.
- Poplar Mart, 565 Poplar St.
- Lizella Supermarket, 3309 Holley Rd.
The release says agents collected evidence related to illegal gambling and the illegal use of gaming machines.
The locations were licensed to have coin operated machines, but agents found customers were receiving cash payouts instead of lottery tickets or store credit.
Multiple arrests are pending. District Attorney David Cookie will be holding a press conference at his office at 3 p.m.
