Commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center Major General Robert McMahon says he should know about more cuts coming to Robins in the next 60 days.

McMahon said that after speaking to the Macon Chamber of Commerce at the Douglas Theater in Macon Thursday morning.

McMahon told the group that 4,500 more job cuts are coming to the Air Force.

He says some of those, although he doesn't know how many, will affect Robins. That's in addition to the 515 positions Robins slashed in November, as part of a Department of Defense effort to cut $450 billion in spending.

McMahon says 235 people accepted early retirement or separation offers last month. About 330 more employees will be offered the incentives after the first of the year.

Lorra Lynch Jones will have more on McMahon's comments to the Macon Chamber of Commerce tonight on Eyewitness News at 5 and 6.
