One Houston County Elementary school used a scene from a classic film to get students ready for back to school.  Students at King's Chapel Elementary in Perry started the 2012-13 school year down a yellow brick road.

The yellow path symbolizes where King's Chapel students aim to go in life:  higher education and a higher quality of life.  Teacher April Pearson says, "King's Chapel is by far the best elementary school, not only in Houston County, but in our state."

The "Wizard of Oz" theme was used to show school pride on the first day of classes.  The motto is "There's no place like King's Chapel's".  Besides decorating the school, teachers also dressed up as "Dorothy" all way down to their ruby slippers.  Teachers say the yellow brick road is the path to quality education.
