After narrowing down the search for a director of the new Bibb Animal Shelter from 32 applicants to just two applicants, Chairman Sam Hart will nominate his choice the new director of animal welfare for the board of commissioners for approval.
A news release by the Bibb County Board of Commissioners says the decision will take place today.
Hart will choose between Sarah Tenon, an employee of the Mobile Animal Shelter in Alabama, and Richard Rice, former vice president of the Atlanta Humane Society. He left after the society admitted to not reporting multiple cases of parvo to the state.
That meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. today.
