The man found guilty of killing a Baldwin County Sheriff's Deputy in 1995 could be put to death as soon as next summer, according to Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright.

He says Robert Wayne Holsey was found guilty in 1997 of shooting and killing Deputy Will Robinson.

The most recent hearing went before the U.S. 11th District Court of Appeals, Bright says, where the judges denied his appeal.

Bright says the decision came down on Sept 13.

He says Holsey has 21 days to file for a rehearing. If he loses that, Bright says he then can file for an extension to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Bright called this the biggest case out of Baldwin County in the 18 years he's been the District Attorney.
