The National Weather Service plans to investigate whether a tornado hit part of Wheeler County Monday afternoon.

Wheeler County EMA Director Steve Adams reports that the Monday weather caused a few downed trees.

Adams said that a few trees went down on roads, but he was able to clear them out quickly.

He said it looks like a twister went through a wooded area and took the tops off of trees. No structures were damaged.

It happened near Glenwood, off U.S. Highway 280. That was about five miles southwest of Alamo.

Adams says the weather teams told him that if all goes according to plan, they'll meet with him Tuesday to view the damage.

"This corresponds well with the radar rotation signature," according to the weather service's preliminary report.
