Warner Robin's own Miss America 2016, Betty Cantrell, will place the crown on a new queen Sunday at the 2017 Miss America pageant.
WMAZ spoke to Betty's father Mike Cantrell on the phone and he says he's ready for his daughter to start a new chapter in her life.
He says the hardest part about this past year was not being able to talk to his daughter as much, due to her busy schedule as Miss America.
He says Betty's most memorable moment during her reign, was laying the wreath at the tomb of the unknown solider in Washington D.C.
Mike says Betty won't be returning to Warner Robins after her reign, but he says he's expecting her music career to take off.
"She's going to complete online, her Mercer degree in music and fine arts and thing number two, which is probably running neck and neck with thing number one, is she's moving to Nashville," said Cantrell. "She's already begun her recording career."
