Senior citizens in Macon may soon have a new center.
On Tuesday, Bibb commissioners could vote on a resolution that would chose Warren Associates to build the more than $2.2 million building.
Reggie Moore, director of parks and recreation, says after several meetings with the seniors, they were able to finalize the plans for the SPLOST project.
Moore says the building will have a several rooms including: a multipurpose room for events, a warming kitchen, and a computer room.
“[The architects] show where the building is currently sitting as well as the opportunity for rooms. You can expand the building to expand the footprint, so you can add to the building so it’s not landlocked as some seniors might have had some concerns about the building being landlocked,” said Moore.
Bibb commissioners will meet Tuesday to potentially vote on this resolution.
