Bibb teacher faces three child cruelty charges

We talked to Bibb County schools Superintendent Curtis Jones about a cruelty investigation involving a teacher.

A Bibb County teacher was arrested Tuesday morning on three counts of first-degree child cruelty.

According to the Bibb County jail web site, Chad Keen was booked into the jail around 10 a.m. Tuesday and released less than two hours later on a $25,350 bond.

The Bibb County schools' website lists him as a third-grade special education teacher at Heritage Elementary School.

Last week, Superintendent Curtis Jones said two educators at Heritage were on leave while the school investigated an incident there.

Jones said one of the educators struck a student on the head with an object, but he declined to give further details. He said the student was not seriously injured.
