Bomb threat cleared in downtown Macon

Bibb County deputies evacuated the Superior Court Probation Office around 5 p.m. Wednesday because of a bomb threat.

The building is located on Second Street in downtown.

A news release from the Sheriff's Office said a caller indicated there was a bomb in the building.

The bomb disposal unit checked the building and determined there were no bombs. They cleared the building around 7 p.m. 

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to call them at 478-751-7500.
