It isn't even Halloween yet, but a church in Adrian is already getting into the Christmas spirit.
The Church of Jesus Christ started collecting cans in July for a Christmas tree can drive.
The cans and jars of peanut butter are being built into a Christmas tree in one of the church's back rooms.
So far, they've collected 3,500 cans and 200 jars of peanut butter.
The church's youth ministry leader explained why they're doing it.
“We are trying to show the community that there's still good in churches because so many people are finding fault in churches nowadays,” said Joshua Kapp.
The church is hoping to collect 5,000 cans by December 1.
They plan to help 225 families in their area just in time for Christmas.
