Cook Out purchases final piece of land for future restaurant

Cook Out buys land in Macon

Cook Out is one step closer to opening its doors in Macon after Tuesday night's commission meeting.

Bibb County owned part of the parking lot on the property of the future Cook Out, but Tuesday, the Commission voted to sell that portion of land to the restaurant. Cook Out will pay over $59,000 to the county for over 7,000 square feet of land. Commissioner Al Tillman says now that Cook Out owns the whole property, they will begin moving forward with getting the restaurant ready.

“Other folks I know attend the one in Warner Robins, so to have one right here on the corridor, the education corridor, that we're trying to attract businesses, retain businesses, doing so much work. We're just so excited about it, and I’m hoping within the next six months or so, we'll have a Cook Out right here,” says Tillman.

Tillman says he is unsure if Cook Out plans to use the existing building or knock it down.
