Eastman group gives police department posters signed by law enforcement in memory of fallen officer

It has been almost a month since Eastman Officer Tim Smith was shot and killed, but the community is still coming together to remember him.

On Monday night, the Eastman Servants of God group unveiled posters they framed from Officer Smith's funeral. They have the signatures of all the police officers who were in attendance that day. The group chose to unveil the posters to the Eastman Police Department and to thank them for all they do.

"Thank you all so much. We really do appreciate this. We surely do. I know that Tim's looking down from heaven and he just can't believe how much everybody has done. It's been awesome. Thank you all so much for everything that you all have done,” said Eastman Police Chief Becky Sheffield.

Dianne Minor with the Servants of God group says they do not have a lot of money, but just wanted to do something to honor Officer Smith. She says Smith helped them at their last school drive event.

"I think it will mean a lot to the other officers because they can always go back and look and see. We hope nothing like this ever, ever happens again in any county. Not just in Dodge County. They can be able to go back and look and be aware--helping them remember Tim Smith,” explains Minor.

Eastman Police Chief Becky Sheffield says they plan to hang the posters up in the Police Department office.
