Some Twiggs County employees will have lighter paychecks for the next couple of months.
The county is cutting back some workers' hours to save money.
According to a document sent to employees, the furloughs will affect 22 full-time and nine part-time workers.
Most of them will lose two days pay each week through Oct. 1 and then one day a week through Nov. 11.
Some of the departments affected include roads, elections, custodians and the commissioners and tax offices.
County commission chairman Kenneth Fowler says they could be looking at a $2 million deficit by the end of the year if they don't cut costs.
