Floral design studio to open in downtown Macon

Mary Pinson plans to open the studio early September.

A floral design studio will open soon in the same building that was once home for a popular coffee shop, Joshua Cup Coffee, in downtown Macon.

Mary Pinson Floral Design Studio will be a one stop shop for events, according to owner Mary Pinson.

"I am an event florist, so I will specialize in events, weddings, corporate events, things like that. I also will do flower deliveries," Pinson said.

Unlike many large flower shops, the studio will not be full service. Pinson says this means she will not always have a slew of flower arrangements on hand.

However, she will be able to order specific flowers and arrangements by request, and get them to the studio in a timely manner.

Although the studio is not open yet, Pinson is not new to the floral business.

"I've been doing all of this out of my house for about 15 years and I just could not take it for one more second, so I started looking at spaces and found this beautiful space, and I am so delighted to be downtown," she said.

Aside from retail, Pinson plans to teach floral classes at the studio and serves as a wedding and event planner.

The studio will open at the beginning of September with an open house/grand opening planned for the weekend of September 7.

Pinson says she will keep the community updated on her website and social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram).
