Georgia beer lovers rejoice. Macon Beer Company expects to distribute to other major Georgia cities by this summer.
Macon's sole brewery announced expansion plans, saying they'll increase production by 400 percent with new "cellaring equipment," according to a release.
By this summer, co-owner Cory Smith expects the company to widen their distribution area to other parts of Georgia, including Augusta, Columbus and Atlanta.
He says the the increased production gets the company "a step closer" to canning, and placing their beers in grocery stores, package stores and restaurants without draft beer like Macon favorites Ingleside Village Pizza and Lemongrass.
