Hay House becomes haunted for a day

Hay House hosts Halloween event

Halloween came a day early at Macon's Hay House.

Princesses, fairies and pirates were just some of visitors to stop by and trick-or-treat at the historic home.

The house was open to the public to take a look at some of the spooky displays and even take part in arts and crafts.

One employee at the Hay House, William Aultman, says this biannual event is normally held around Christmas time, but they decided to host it on Halloween this year.

“We took our dining room and our green parlor and we decorated them for Halloween, so we have a few skeletons, lots of cobwebs, really spooky eerie things for our guests to look at," said Aultman. "We just want to encourage everyone to come here and see our house and do some trick-or-treating."

Aultman says the next event for the public will be held in the spring.
