Downtown Macon was packed Saturday afternoon for the 7th annual Macon Beer Fest.
The event showcased more than 60 craft beers from all over Georgia.
Festival organizer Steve Bell says this event is more than just a chance to try local beers; it’s an opportunity to get a free prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening.
Around 100 men were tested while they got to enjoy some cold brews.
"We do testing on men, which is really a health fair disguised as a beer festival. The beer doesn't affect tests the men take, but it does grease the wheels so that the wife will say go get tested, or their buddies will say, 'I'll do it if you do it.' The best thing is when the wife comes to me and tells me thank you because he's gotten tested,” said Bell.
Those who took the tests at the festival will get their results back within the next six weeks.
