Thousands of people in coastal Georgia are without power Saturday morning after Hurricane Matthew hit overnight.
The outages are located mainly in Brunswick and Savannah – but also in Statesboro, Camden County, and Effingham County.
As of 6:30 a.m. these are some of the counties affected and the total number of customers:
Chatham Co. 137,000
Camden Co. 11,700
Glynn Co. 42,000
McIntosh Co. 4,100
Liberty Co. 9,700
Bryan Co. 5,600
Effingham Co. 27,800
Wayne Co. 5,000
Many crews staged in Macon over the last 24 hours and Georgia Power is getting help from surrounding states.
