Minori's Italian Ristorante opens at 22 W. Main Street in downtown Forsyth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
The restaurant will have a family atmosphere and offer traditional Italian cuisine made from scratch for lunch and dinner each day, according to co-owner Chelsea Larkin.
She is opening the restaurant with co-owners Fred Collins and Greg Goolsby, who also owns The Pickled Okra downtown.
As for Larkin, this is not her first rodeo in the restaurant business or her first dip into Italian food.
"I have been in the restaurant business since I was 14," she said about her background. Larkin holds a Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts and a Master's in Italian cuisine.
She added that she grew up in an Italian family.
"My grandmother is from Sicily; my grandfather is from northern Italy," she said.
The restaurant is named after her grandmother, who's maiden name is Minori.
Larkin says the restaurant also has a banquet area that seats 50, which will be available to be rented out for business meetings, birthdays and other events.
The menus feature traditional Italian meals like marsala, Italian sausage and peppers and Fruitti Di Mare, which is jumbo shrimp in a garlic lemon butter sauce over angel hair pasta.
There are separate menus for lunch and dinner.
The restaurant will also serve beer and wine, but not immediately, according to General Manager Andrea Fagan.
Minori's will be open from 11 to 9 Monday through Thursday, 11 to 10 Fridays and Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
