The weeklong celebration of Kwanzaa begins today and the events for Macon’s 25th Annual Kwanzaa Festival have been announced.

Kwanzaa was founded in 1966 as the first specifically African-American holiday that celebrates African unity and culture with 7 days dedicated to the principles of African heritage

Unity Day Celebration at the Douglass Theatre

Wednesday, December 27 

Youth Nite of Self Determination Open Mic "For the Culture" at the Douglass Theatre
