LIST: Unsolved 2017 Bibb homicides, Crimestoppers ups rewards to $2,000

Bibb County Sheriff David Davis held a news conference Tuesday giving some insight into the department's activity to fight crime during the summer. Davis highlighted three particular arrests saying the summer was full of "roguery and hooliganism."

Macon Regional Crimestoppers made a post on Facebook on Tuesday listing all 12 of Bibb County's unsolved homicides this year.

Crimestoppers typically offers $1,000 for tips leading to arrests, but they've increased that to $2,000 because of an extraordinary violent 2017.

The 12 unsolved homicides are part of 27 killings this year. Here's a list of Crimestoppers' unsolved homicides:

May 9: Vivian Putante Napoles, 63, found with her throat slashed in a bedroom at her home at 636 Bowman St. off of Emery Highway.

June 18: Emmanuel Stroud Sr., 57, was found shot to death in the 3500 block of Clark Street off of Bloomfield Drive. He was found in an alley by a crew working on power lines at a home.

Also unsolved is the death of Stroud's son, 24-year-old Emmanuel Stroud Jr., 24. He was shot to death Sept. 16 while walking on Walmar Drive.

July 4: Kelvin Willis, 39, was killed in a drive-by shooting in the 3400 block of Houston Avenue. Bibb County deputies found him inside an apartment at Pendleton Homes. Willis was unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Medical Center Navicent Health where he was pronounced death.

July 12: Chase Gillis, 16, was shot and killed after an attempted gun swap with two other men at 156 Briar Creek Trail in Lizella, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. Investigators say the two other men, David Billingsley and Logan Nettles, have claimed self defense.

Macon Regional Crimestoppers has the case listed as an unsolved homicide.

July 18: 25-year-old Casey Harvey was gunned down during a home invasion in front of his girlfriend and three children at the Rockland Apartment Complex at 2295 Recreation Road.

Aug. 21: Brijeshkumar Patel, 42, a clerk at L&C Convenience Store on Hillcrest Boulevard was shot to death during a suspected robbery. Two customers found him laying on the floor behind the counter at the store suffering from several gunshot wounds. The cash register was open and empty.

Aug. 23: Jian Fang (Andy) Wang, an employee at Hot Wings Plus, 3479 Pio Nono Ave., was leaving the restaurant with two other employees at about 10:15 p.m. when he was shot to death during a reported robbery. The suspected killer took a bag containing money from Wang.

The shooter then took a bag believed to contain money from the business, according to the sheriff's office.

Oct. 2: Hillard Martin, 22, was found dead from several gunshot wounds in an alley in the 100 block of Pansy Avenue.

Oct. 21: Candice Towns, 30, was found shot to death on Rosecrest Avenue -- a side street between Telfair Street and Second Avenue. The transwoman's body was found by a Bibb County public works employee. 

Oct. 31: Jackie Rouse, 38, was shot and killed after a fight broke out in a house at 1013 Dennis Court. Shots were fired killing Rouse and injuring the other man

Nov. 6: Michael Baxley, 53, was found shot to death inside his home at 4432 Pharr Ave, off of Columbus Road in west Macon.
