People were able to get up close and personal with aircraft Saturday at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport’s first open house.
The free event allowed people to tour the airport and see the different planes, helicopters, and emergency response vehicles at the airport.
Airport manager Erick D'Leon calls this a touch-a-truck event for an airport.
He says they want to show people what happens in the airspace around Central Georgia.
"It's a good opportunity to see some of the traffic that we have here at the airport. We've got some military aircraft that just came in for a fuel stop, we've got some maintenance aircraft out here doing some test runs this morning, so I think the public really got a chance to see what the airport does."
