Macon Apartments could lose water due to late payments

Tenants at a North Macon apartment complex will have their water turned off unless the buildings' owners pay the Macon Water Authority $5,200 by Friday morning.

According to a spokesman for the Authority, this is the third time since December that River Ridge Apartments off Riverside Drive has been late on its payments.

One tenant reported he was shocked to see the notices posted on his front door, and says he saw some being removed by property maintenance workers. He explained his water costs are supposed to be included in his rent.

County tax records list a Savannah company as owning the property. When 13WMAZ reached out to the firm, a representative said they no longer own it and could not identify who does.
