Macon gas station set on fire, items stolen

A Macon gas station was burned and burglarized Thursday at Shurling Drive and New Clinton Road.

Fire officials say someone stole items from a gas station in Macon Wednesday morning, then set it on fire.

Lt. Ben Gleaton with the fire department said it happened at 2 a.m. on Shurling Drive and New Clinton Road.

He said the damage is extensive. The store had been closed for a while but recently re-opened.

Officials are offering a $10,000 reward for more information.
