Macon man charged with dollar store burglary

A man is in the Bibb County Jail after being charged with a burglary at a Macon dollar store on Friday, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office news release. 

The burglary took place at the Family Dollar store in the 4000 block of Bloomfield Road just before midnight. 

It says the responding deputy saw a male dressed in all black running in the parking lot of a church near the store. 

The man, 39-year-old Bennie Willis III, was found holding a crowbar and large plastic bag. The male dropped the bag and crowbar and charged toward the responding deputy.

The deputy tased Willis to detain him. 

Willis was checked out by EMS before being transported to the jail.
