Macon man indicted, accused of trying to run over deputy

A Bibb County grand jury indicted a man Tuesday who is accused of attempting to run over a Bibb County deputy.

Bernard Miller was indicted on multiple counts including two counts of Aggravated Assault.

According to a previous Bibb County Sheriff's Office press release, deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle behind the El Sombrero restaurant on Forsyth Road on May 17th around 3:45 a.m.

They chased it to a church parking lot on Westover Drive where three men jumped out.

Deputies caught one of the men, but two others ran off.

Meanwhile deputies noticed another vehicle circling the block.

The driver was 30 year-old Miller.

Investigators say he nearly hit two deputies when he took off but they were eventually able to catch up with him.
