Macon Starbucks burglarized during power outage

The Starbuck's located on Forsyth Road in Macon was burglarized overnight on Tuesday.

The coffee shop closed on Monday due to the power outage caused by Tropical Storm Irma. When an employee came by the next morning, she noticed that the drive-thru window was open, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office incident report.

After taking a look around, the employee noticed that four cash registers were missing. She mentioned that money is normally taken out of the register, but due to the power being out, $200 was in each register.

This incident is still under investigation.

In a separate incident, one woman who lives on Toole Drive in Macon says her home was burglarized after she left due to the power outage on Monday, an incident report states.

When she returned Tuesday morning, she says several electronics including three laptops, two game systems, a camera, three televisions, a safe and a stereo were all missing.

A brick had been thrown through the glass rear door.

This incident is also still under investigation.

Anyone with information about either incident should call the Bibb County Sheriff'S Office at (478) 751-7500.
