Macon woman accused of stealing $15K from elementary school PTO

MACON - A 58-year-old Macon woman was arrested by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Financial Crimes Unit on several charges Tuesday afternoon.

According to a news release, Donna Jean Rogers was charged with theft by taking, possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

As investigators were looking into the case, they discovered that Rogers took more than $15,000 from the PTO account at Macon's Porter Elementary School, while serving as PTO president from 2015 to 2016.

During a search warrant conducted at Rogers' house, investigators found Xanax pills and marijuana. They also found documents that are associated with the investigation of the fiduciary theft.

Rogers was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charges. She has since been released on a $13,800 bond.
