Princess "LaShelle" Davis hosts a “Street jazz infused Hip-Hop” class where women are required to wear high heel shoes at Hayiya Dance Theatre in Macon each Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m.

It is a beginner level class that incorporates body lines, fitness and occasional sensual floor choreography.

The course helps tone muscles, builds cardio and is overall enjoyable, according to Davis.

She says it allows women to express themselves through dance, which she loves to do.

"My inspiration came from choreographers, like Yanice Marshall, Fatima Robinson, Michelle Jersey and then, some celebrities," Davis mentioned about why she started the class.

Some of her celebrity influences include Beyonce, Janet Jackson and Brittney Spears.

Davis started her dancing career at Hayiya dance Theatre when she was 18 years old doing West African dance and hip hop.
