One Macon woman was recognized by the county for receiving a Presidential Lifetime Achievement award from President Barack Obama.
Macon-Bibb County presented Dianna Hollins with a proclamation for her award Sunday at the county government center.
Hollins is an international and millennial speaker, who has also written several empowerment books.
She has received several awards for all of her work, but Hollins says this award is her biggest accomplishment.
“To have the leader of your country say ‘I identify what you’ve done and I’m appreciative of what you’ve done’ to me that speaks volumes because that also allows you to know that you support the vision your country has and not just your local government,” said Hollins.
Macon-Bibb County also declared September 14 Dianna Hollins Day.
The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest level of the President’s Volunteer Service Award that one can receive. It requires the completion of 4,000 or more hours of service.
